I was running VM on the VMware workstation 12 player, and suddenly my system crashed-Blue Screen 😦

So once i tried to run my VM again, it throws the following error

“Failed to lock the file”

In order to get rid of the issue, simply go the virtual drive folder,

and remove the “.vmdk.lck”.

This trick will work, (at least in my case 🙂 )
